Jessica Hudson are working on building this storytelling machine around a quilt that’s a curtain that’s also a shadow screen that’s also a quilt. We spent Friday afternoon making the show quilt and playing with puppets. It’s like a cross between an American folk-art piece and an aerial map. Which are two big ideas in our show. What’s the name of our show, you ask? Well. “FLIGHT” kind of covers it for now, although we’re coming up with something better. A journey in 5 episodes, premiering the first at Random House here in Chicago’s Logan Square this May. Puppets, shadows, flashlights, a quilt, and us. Original live music, too.
